ILPAN hosts Security for Development, a civil society group in Nigeria

ILPAN hosts the inaugural Security-4-Development Talks:

“The (in) secure road to the 2023 elections in Nigeria”

Date: Friday 14 January 2022

Venue and Time: Online, 8am-11.30am UK time (9am-12.30pm West Africa Time)

Security-4-Development (S-4-D) is a civil society group established in 2021 by Professor Martin Ike-Muonso to address Nigeria’s security challenges. The members are drawn from across Nigeria’s religious and ethnic groups and a mix of professions, providing for a wide range of perspectives. In May 2021, S-4-D submitted a Memorandum to the Nigerian House of Representatives Special Committee on National Security, providing innovative immediate and medium-term solutions to key challenges. This S-D-4 Talk will build on those ideas. This event provides useful context and insight for ILPAN’s project on election-related violence in Nigeria.
